Winter Exhibition

Our winter exhibition is now open! Come and see the work of Andrew McCutcheon, Angharad Taris, Anwen Roberts, Gail Jones, Lorna Bates, Rachel Stewart, Rosie Farey, The Whittlings and Louise Schrempft.

This exhibition is located in Glasfryn Hall (to the rear of the main gallery building). If you are unable to view the exhibition in person, all of the available work is on our website which you can view here.

Own Art is a Creative United initiative supported by Arts Council of Wales. Own Art provides an affordable way to buy art by breaking the cost down into 10 interest-free monthly payments. ‘Gaia’ Exhibition

Currently on display in the Main Gallery

The first of our triannual exhibitions held in the main gallery space (shop) this exhibition explores how female artists interact with their environment. Textile artist Lynda Shell has created one of a kind bags and quilts using silkscreen printed offcuts guided by an admiration for the rural African American women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. Contemporary impressionist painter Jane Morrow explores the notion of hiraeth in her landscape paintings; capturing fleeting but spiritually connecting moments, often painting environments that are at risk of climate change and development. Ceramicist Hilary Coole has created a collection inspired by our destruction of the planet. The female form represents mother earth and she is surrounded by abstract landscapes.

New Work: Ed Ap Llwyd

Ed is a North Wales potter and ceramic artist. Born and raised in Eryri, throwing pots in the foothills of Cadair Idris. 

All his work is inspired by a life living in the mountains, the weather, flora and fauna, his ancestors work, the neolithic stone carvings, the pots of the Beaker people, Pictish, Brythonig and Gaelic myths and legends, in his own interpretation. 

He rarely plans a design but lets the idea or feeling guide the tools – that way he can let the images flow and develop as he carves, Clay is his canvas.
