Anvil Pottery

Allan and Krithia share a studio situated in the historic village smithy building in Llanrhaeadr where they make pots in their own distinctive styles. Their ‘house style’ is mostly functional, covering oxidized stoneware with sgraffito decoraton and traditional slipware with slip trailed and/or sgraffito decoration. They also are known for their medieval reprodctions. The inspirations for the designs come from naturally occurring shapes and lines and their Celtic roots have a strong influence on the forms made.
