End Times Pottery Club

Helen Chamberlain and Matt Latchford are British artists and ceramicists who co-founded End Times Pottery Club, a studio devoted to creating evocative, narrative-driven ceramic works with a gothic, mythic, and whimsical edge.

Their ceramic practice began in early 2024 and reflects their respective creative backgrounds as designers, with an illustrator’s eye and an animator’s sense of movement; surfaces ripple, motifs twist, and characters seem caught mid-story. Themes of darkness, duality, and transformation run through their work, often drawing from folklore, psychological archetypes, and the poetic tension between ruin and renewal.

Approaching the exhibition theme of “Darkness”, Chamberlain and Latchford explore the notion not as the absence of light, but as a realm of potential—a place where hidden truths surface and suppressed narratives gain form. Their pieces linger in the threshold between the seen and the unseen, inviting viewers to confront what is buried, silenced, or forgotten.

Working collaboratively from their studio, they continue to expand the boundaries of contemporary ceramic storytelling, crafting work that is both playful and unsettling, ancient in spirit yet modern in expression.
