Kim Harley-Griffiths

Colwyn Bay, Clwyd

Ceramicist

Born in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, living on the edge of an ancient woodland and the Welsh mountain Zoo, as a child Kim would hear strange primeval animal sounds through the night that fed her imagination.

After studying Illustration at Wrexham she moved to London and became a freelance fashion and children’s book illustrator. She now lives on the Wirral.

Kim exhibits across the UK and her work is in private collections both in the Uk and internationally. Kim has been drawing and painting most of her life and has only worked with clay for the last couple of years but the first day she felt and formed creatures with clay, she knew it was where she needed to be, drawing with clay.

“Somehow, I could create mythical figures and creatures in clay that I would never have imagined for my paintings”

Kim is taking part in our ‘Tywyllwch/Darkness’ exhibition later this year where a collection of her paintings and sculptures will be on display. The exhibition will run from 29th October to 24th December.
