Neil Dalrymple

Neil has worked with ceramics for over 45 years and has been a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists. He worked in Canada for 13 years and moved back to North Wales in 1985 where he was based at Ruthin Craft Centre for 30 years.

Neil produces freestanding sculptures, sculptural wall murals, birds, human forms and mythological creatures as well as some functional wares. His style is inspired by nature, fully researched and realistic, he manages to incorporate movement when recreating wildlife.

Neils sculptures are made of hand-built stoneware clay and fired in an electric kiln to 1230 degrees. His main colours are basic ceramic oxides often under a white matt glaze. He is continuously experimenting with his subject matter and his making process.
