RICHARD MORRIS

The ceramics that Richard gravitates towards come primarily from Chinese, Korean and Japanese traditions. Although retired, his background in science, leads him to experiment widely with clays, glaze formulation and firing techniques. This often leads to unique if unpredictable results. Most of the pots he produces are simply glazed, often in a single colour, with no decoration; the forms are the primary focus. He uses a gas kiln for reduction firing and an electric one for oxidation depending on the glaze effects desired.
