Jenny Ryrie specialises in watercolour. Her paintings consist of semi-abstract and abstract works on paper. These range from studies made on location to expressionistic landscapes and minimalist  abstract compositions. Her more abstract pieces have included series relating to sounds and music.

She has an M.A. in Fine Art from Edinburgh, is a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and an Associate of the Penwith Society of Arts. She has exhibited nationally and internationally for many years and is based near Chester on the Welsh border.

For several years she had a series of solo shows with Canyon Road Contemporary Art in New Mexico, U.S.A. where she painted the American wilderness with its incredible light and warm palette. In the U.K. she is inspired by coastal and mountain landscapes, exploring sea, moorlands, weather and the energies of Nature with many solo and group exhibitions.
